Journeys is a reading program designed to meet the diverse needs of all students by using a balanced literacy approach. Students will progressively learn and develop different skills related to phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and reading comprehension.

The comprehensive curriculum prepares students for success on writing assessments and a lifetime of confident writing.
Orton Gillingham

Built around the Standards for Mathematical Practices, McGraw-Hill My Math engages students with the focus, coherence and rigor required by state standards. The program has an intuitive lesson format and digital tools to develop customized content. At Cesar Chavez Academy Lower Elementary we believe in meeting the needs of our students by utilizing curricular programs as resources. Generation Genius

Generation Genius is a K-8 teaching resource that brings school science standards to life through fun and educational videos paired with lesson plans, activities, quizzes, reading material and more. Our videos are produced in partnership with the National Science Teaching Association, and aligned to standards in all 50 states.
Mystery Science

Mystery Science is a curriculum aligned with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and supports the Common Core standards. It is an online science program featuring “open-and-go” lessons that inspire kids in grades K-5 to love science. It features rigorous lessons in science and engineering that inspire students to love science. Each Mystery begins with a question that is explored through hands-on scientific investigations, discussion questions, engaging videos and experiences that connect to real-world phenomena.

MC3 Social Studies Curriculum

Cesar Chavez Academy utilizes the Michigan Citizenship Collaborative Curriculum (MC3) as guided by the Michigan State Social Studies Standards for Social Studies instruction.
